Preventing the spread of disease

Most of us have a good familiarity with our own bodies. We can feel the difference in our bodies at the beginning of a cold, flu, or other malady. Listen to your body!

When you sign up to schedule a massage, you will be asked if you are or have been showing cold symptoms in the past 5 days. Be honest with yourself! Is that really your allergies acting up, or were you just out with friends who are now complaining of colds?

You will also be asked if anyone in your household has been sick or showing cold symptoms within the past 5 days. Unfortunately, if you weren't the one who gave it to them first, you are very likely going to be sick and may already be incubating it. Stay home. I'm sorry to say that this rule unequally impacts people with small children at home, who seem to be almost continuously sick. However, on behalf of all my clients who are of less robust constitutions, I thank you for not spreading it to me.

Finally, it's important that you know I am holding myself to this rules as well. If I or Matt become sick, you will be contacted to reschedule your appointment. Even more reason I would prefer you reschedule your appointment when you aren't feeling well. No one is paying me sick leave and I'm a gigantic baby when I'm sick!

Not sure? Want to discuss it? Fine. You can reach me as always, by email.

Are you especially at risk when exposed to contagions? Please let me know! I am happy to discuss extra precautions with you for your appointment in order to keep you safe and healthy.
